Weirdough Pizza evolved from the vision of building a portable business that would produce delicious tasting pizza that could be shared to the world.
Inspired by living by the shores of Sicily and seeing how important the flavours of fresh simple food tasted we converted an old vintage horse trailer and installed a ‘Dragon Ovens’ wood fired oven. These can generate heat higher than 300 degrees to produce really authentic Italian flavoured pizza.
Our pizza dough is prepared in our kitchen using the finest Italian Caputo 00 Pizzeria Flour and we make our own tomato sauce using only the best San Marzano tomatoes, the most famous plum tomato to come out of Italy.
Grown in rich volcanic soil at the base of Mount Vesuvius gives them a sweet flavour and low acidity. They are coveted for their firm pulp, deep red colour, easy to remove skin with low seed count.
We use top quality Fior Latte Di Latte semi-soft cheese made in the style of Italian mozzarella. Smooth with a tangy flavour, this elastically textured cheese is perfect for pizzas and other cheese based dishes, because of its superb melting characteristics.
All our pizza toppings are purchased daily and we endeavour to source independent suppliers.
